We try to get our boys involved in helping with a variety of farm tasks. Their favourite farm tasks lately include the following:
- Giving farm & tractor tours
- Teaching kids how to bale jump
- Picking wild apples for the cows
- Tractor driving with an adult
- Fencing
- Bringing the cows in at night
- Extracting and taste-testing honey
- Putting eggs in cartons
- Helping Mama in the farm store
- Moving and feeding the chickens
- New calf wellness checks
Here we are checking on Jenny’s adorable calf when she was only a day old. Mamas tend to hide newborn calves along fences or in long grass when they go eat. Generally step one in a calf wellness check is to find baby (which can often times be very challenging!!). We found this cutie in perfect health with a full belly and enjoying a nap. Mission complete
