Although the cows love munching on fresh pastures, they are not big fans of the heat or the annoying flies this time of year. We always make sure they have access to water and shade, which is extra important on hot summer days like today.
I think the early morning is perhaps my favourite time of day with the cows. Calves are having breakfast, some cows are having a sleep in, some cows are yelling at me for fresh grass (even though they have plenty). It’s nice to have a few minutes of calm with the cows before the chaos of a busy day of life on the farm.
Our farm store is open today until 2pm. Feel free to stop in to buy some tasty grass-fed and finished beef, pasture-raised chickens, pickup a free sunflower🌻 or come chat farming with us. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and finds a nice shady spot to keep cool today!
