Versatility of Roasts

A beautiful grass-fed & finished beef eye of round roast from our farm. So delicious!!!

Now a lot of people I have spoken with shy away from roasts because they are unfamiliar on how to cook them or dislike eating nothing but roast all week. We are here to help and change your opinion of roasts!!

We find roasts are an amazing option for our family and very versatile whether you cook it with a sous-vide (our preference!), oven, bbq, Dutch oven or crock pot. There are lots of easy recipes and videos online of marinades and cooking techniques plus we love to help offer suggestions or recipes (especially Farmer Fred).

The best part about cooking a roast is the leftovers for easy weeknight dinners!! All it takes is a little creativity and usually about 10-20 minutes. Some of our favourite easy ways to use roast beef leftovers are:
– Roast beef sandwiches with beef dip sauce for dunking
– Beef stir-fry with whatever veggies are in the fridge
– Beef soup with egg noodles and fresh or frozen veggies
– Roast beef nachos (*seriously family favourite*)
– Roast beef pizza (on Naan bread with pizza sauce from a can, shredded cheese and assorted veggies – the boys love being pizza chefs)
– Beef stroganoff (creamy pasta with beef)

There are so many easy options to add to your dinner rotation. Plus I find when you get the kids to help, they learn about cooking firsthand and generally leave less food on their plates (win-win)🏆

All our current inventory of roasts and more is on our website and the farm store is open today from 3-6, Friday from 12-5 or Saturday from 9-2. Happy eating!!
