Rhonda is a very special cow. If you have ever been to our farm you may have seen her wandering around our backyard munching some grass. You may have even had the chance to greet her, give her shoulders a rub or brush her hair. She typically does her own thing regardless of the herd and winter chores are a shining example.
While all the cows are cooperative and go into the field while we feed hay with the tractor, Rhonda will refuse to move. She seems to have learned if she stays to “help us”, she gets first dibs on the best hay and gets to taste-test everything before the rest of the cows. Rhonda
Yesterday was so nice we bedded the outside windwall area with some straw, which was the perfect location for most of the herd to catch an afternoon nap in the sunshine
